This chair was designed and fabricated in a chair-making class, where prototypes were tested by many diverse bodies over several weeks. We iterated on the design, tweaking the smallest of details, until we arrived at this form.

The Sling Chair keeps your head comfortably supported, hugs your body just right, and is easy to get in and out of (if you must). The end result was voted Best in Show by a landslide by audience members at the 2026 Fine Woodworking Exhibition.
